And its name is the Isata 5.
Why a Super C?
The best way to describe a Super C is as the truck chassis version of a Class A Diesel. They run off of powerful diesel engines from Super Heavy-Duty Fords, Internationals, Freightliners, or their powerful equals. They are built with durability and towing capacity in mind.
You won’t have to worry about overweight loads. Or at least worry less.
While they have massive towing power, like a Class A, they are replete with luxurious amenities, appliances, slide-outs, and high-end finishes.
Lastly, since Super Cs are essentially trucks, you can find help with engine break-downs so easily, at home or on the road. Most roadside gas stations deal with these motors all the time.
The Dynamax Isata 5 Super C
One of our steadfast suppliers, Forest River and Dynamax Inc., are now providing us with their Super C: The Isata 5.
For the price, this RV is hands down above and beyond its peers.
Built on the Ram 5500 chassis, this engine provides 350 Horsepower, and 750 pound-feet of torque. The gross combination weight rating (GCWR) is 37,500 pounds (yes, 37,500 pounds) It is equipped with a Class IV hitch receiver, a seven-pin electrical coupler, and a dash-mounted trailer brake controller, which make it road-ready to tow up to 10,000 pounds (yes, 10,000 pounds).
It can tow 20,000 pounds. Put in other words, it can haul 2.5 cars. Or 6 horses. Or a second RV. Really, it’s up to you.
It even has an exhaust brake.
And 4-wheel drive! Yes! 4-wheel drive!
Inside, it’s like being at home. In the galley, the 16-cubic-foot stainless-steel residential double-door refrigerator-freezer with ice maker is powered by the house batteries and the inverter. A three-burner cooktop lies underneath a folding glass cover until it is brought into service. A 1.1-cubic-foot convection-microwave oven is poised above the cooktop, ready for action. There’s under-mount sink with a residential faucet and solid-surface covers, a tile backsplash, and a MaxxAir power vent with rain cover. Storage is provided in cabinets and roll-out drawers below the countertop and in the cabinets above. A pull-out-pantry sits just aft of the refrigerator. All drawer guides are residential soft-close, self-latching, full-extension types.
Huge windows allow for lots of light and great views. USB ports are everywhere along with LED lighting. This coach is bright and cheery.
The bed is a King. You’ll feel like one too.
The very stylish Dynamax Isata 5 represents a gorgeous Super C RV. It was chosen “Best In Show” by RV-Pro at the all-industry RV Expo in December, 2016. It has retained that level of excellence and engineering to this day. Come in and take a tour!
Nexus: The Wraith Super C & Ghost Super C
Nexus is our newest manufacturer, and we are ecstatic to be working with them. Their company has thrived selling directly to the public, up until now. Having to please one customer at a time has given them insights into RV construction that are unique and valuable.
The biggest difference between Nexus and every other manufacturer in the RV business is this: low carbon/high alloy steel, 72% stronger than aluminum. Other companies use aluminum and wood to frame their chassis. This means that despite the rigors of the road, Nexus products will be strong and sturdy.
The Wraith is built on an International Durastar chassis, with a Cummins diesel engine, providing 300 Horsepower. It has a 6-Speed 2500 Series Allison transmission. It can tow 10,000 pounds (yes, 10,000 pounds).
Inside, it is a warm and inviting interior. It feels homey and comfortable and packed with features. It has as much or more storage than you can possibly need. The kitchen, bed and bathroom will let you take up as much room as you need. Even if you’re a big guy, you will not feel cramped.
The price point is a minor miracle, for all you get.
The Ghost is also built on an International Durastar chassis, but a 360 HP Cummins Diesel engine. It has a 6-Speed 3000 Series Allison transmission that will provide 800 lb.-ft. of torque. It has 22.5” tires.
It can tow 20,000 pounds. Put in other words, it can haul 5 cars. Or 13 horses. Or a second trailer or two. Really, it’s up to you.
The Ghost is magnificent. And that doesn’t begin to describe what’s inside.
Like the Wraith, the Ghost is roomy and luxe and comfortable. It has a more elegant feel, with more richness than you would ever hope to expect from a mere Class C. That “Super” label fits it perfectly.
So if you want a machine that will effortless haul you up into the mountains in style, fit your whole extended family and let you bring along anything you want, come check out Poulsbo RV’s new line up of Super Cs.
And as always, travel safely.
